DESCRIPTION OF THE PLACE:
Immersed in the magnificent hills near Lucca amidst age-old noble olive trees and renowned vineyards you can see the small as well as ancient village of Matraia. From its sunny hills you can take a breathtaking view on the valley of Lucca where the beauty of the natural spots blends with gorgeous villas and flamboyant gardens. In the quiet of this small village you can relax and enjoy a breath of freh air far from the stress of the city… Welcome to Matraia.

PLACES TO VISIT:
Just on the outskirts you can visit the famous Lucca villas among which the most important is the big housing estate of the 'Villa Reale' in the small town of Marlia. In 15 minutes' drive you can reach the city of Lucca, the capital of the Province, famous for its historical monuments, art works as well as musical and entertaining venues like Lucca Comics.In addition you can visit other important art cities like Florence (76km), Pisa (25km), Siena(15km) Pistoia(52km), or other famous places like 'la grotta del vento'(the cave of the wind), the thermal city of Montecatini and the amusements of the Versilia seaside resorts

DESCRIPTION OF THE HOLIDAY HOME:
This country cottage is situated in a quiet and lovely place that can be easily reached. The house can accomodate as many as eight people and it is divided into two parts connected by a large hall, on the left side there is a sitting room with a fireplace on the ground floor, upstairs there is a double berdroom, a small single bedroom and a shower bathroom. On the right side there is the kitchen-dining room a living room with another fireplace, a double bedroom, a single bedroom, another bedroom wich can be furnished with a single bed or twin beds as required, a bathroom with bathtub.Outside in the large garden there is a barbecue with a brickwork oven for pizza and bread and there is the entrance to the laundry room equipped with the washing-machine, the heater and all the necessary tools for cleaning. There is also a gate leading to the wood-shed and near the barbecue there is a kiwibower under which there is a big table where you can eat in summer. Moreover there is a lot of parking space and an orchard interspersed with olive trees (about an hectare, i. e. about 2,5 acres)Facilities: heating, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing-machine, two colour Tv sets, Dvd player, hair dryer, barbecue and oven for pizza, linen, parking space.

PRICES ( a person a day):

The prices can vary according to the lenght of the stay and the number of guests ( for example, lower price with 7-8 guests)
Minimum stay: 5 days ( contact us for lower stays)
*During low season an additional charge of 30 euros a week is required for heating expenses.
Lighting, water, gas, tv, final cleaning expenses are included.

HOW TO GET TO THE HOUSE: When you reach Matraia ( see route)go along the main road as far as the church and past the cemetery; at the park turn right (roadsign 'Villa Guinigi il Palazzaccio) and go along the track (dirty road), when you get in front of the gate of the villa 'Il Palazzaccio turn right into a steep track and when you get to the bottom turn left and after 10 meters you are at destination.
