DESCRIPTION OF THE PLACE:
Lucca is one of the most important art cities in Italy, famous even outside the national boundaries for its well-preserved city walls dating back to the XV-XVII centuries, delineating a perimeter of about 4,450 metres around the inner nucleus of the city. Its monumental historical centre has remained almost intact in its original appearence just as the myriad middle-age churches that are the reason for the city's nickname 'the city with a hundred churches'.
PLACES TO VISIT:
On the outskirts you can visit the famous 'ville lucchesi' among which the the big housing estate of the 'Villa Reale' in the small town of Marlia. At about 15 minutes from the city centre you can reach the charming old village of Matraia steeped in the enchanting countyside surrounding Lucca.In addition you can visit other important art cities like Florence (76km), Pisa (25km), Siena(15km) Pistoia(52km), or other famous places like 'la grotta del vento'(the cave of the wind), the thermal city of Montecatini and the amusements of the Versilia seaside resorts.

DESCRIPTION OF THE HOLIDAY HOUSE:
The house is in one of the main quarters in Lucca: Sant'Anna, which has always been a housing developement and the throbbing heart involved in many outstanding events of the city. The plat is part of a cosy and small block of flats 1.4 km far from the historical centre and the famous city walls. It can accomodate four people comfortably in a double bedroom and two single bedrooms with an additional fifth bed if required. It consists of a large sitting room, a kitchen, a double bedroom, two single bedrooms and two bathrooms. Outside there is ample parking space for two cars.Facilities: heating, fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge, dishwasher, linen, two colour TV sets with cable/satellite and Dvd player, hair-dryer.

The prices are indicative and can vary according to the lenght of the stay and the number of guests. *During low season an additional charge of 30 euros a week is required for heating expenses.

HOW TO GET TO THE HOUSE:From the highway exit 'Lucca Est:Take 'Viale Europa and go lalong this road, pass the fly-over and the round-about, go past two sets of traffic lights and turn left into Via Carlo Angeloni, then left again into via Castruccio Buonamici, past the church turn left and at n° you have arrived at your destination ( It's a block of flats made of red bricks, far from the street, it can be reached along a driveway)
